Risk of scalding

For those of you not bothering, the wording says:
Caution: The hot water temerature can rise sharply at times. Risk of scalding!
This is so familiar, yet so annoying. Instead of actually fixing the plumbing, we have a legal disclaimer which says its ok, our asses our covered. Naturally, when the scalding water hit my proverbial ass in the shower, the fact that there was a warning sticker provided me endless comfort.
this is the equivalent of a ‘Beta’ patch in the software world.
